IN THIS POSITION YOU ARE  
Our new Finance Trainee for our brand new central office located in Utrecht!  As our finance trainee You will be trained to become jointly responsible for Accounts Payable Management (processing incoming invoices until the actual payment), Income Audit activities (checking daily sales and corrections) and General Cashier (processing cash delivered and checking cash float).
Various start-up projects such as F&B cost control could be one of your responsibilities. Procedures are still being determined and we are open for your own input aswell. You will definetely support and assist our accounting clerks and financial controller in the daily financial activities.
 
After an introduction period, you will soon start working independently, of course you will receive the necessary support from the Accounting Clerks and Financial Controller and you will receive crosstraining in our hotels. During this internship, you will gain experience in administrative processes behind the scenes of our hotel group and you get a clear picture of how the monthly profit/loss account and balance sheet are established.
 
Ultimately, the Finance department ensures proper handling of the finances, in order to offer our guests an excellent service and to achieve the best possible result together. This internship is an educational and varied position in which the different facets of the financial department of a hotel group are discussed and in which there is a lot of contact with the hotels and other departments of the hotel group.

Functie eisen Finance Trainee:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Receive purchase invoices and process in PowerApps / Dynamics (Financial systems)
  • Code purchase invoices and request approval from the department head and general managers
  • Prepare purchase invoice payments
  • Set up daily sales reports
  • Check previous days' corrections
  • Control No shows / free nights / early and late departures
  • Check processed laundry invoices
  • Check processed F&B discounts
  • Check statistics
  • Reconcile different systems (Micros, Telephone, Opera,MDBC).
  • Counting cash and comparing it with PMS
  • Investigate and correct cash differences
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • Maintain F&B inventory on a monthly basis
  • Set-up start-up projects such as F&B cost control
 
 
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS   

You are a real initiator and you want to learn a lot in the field of Finance! You have a passion for hotels and figures and you think along from the perspective of the hotel and the hotel group.
 
  • You follow an MBO or Bachelor's degree, preferably in Hotel Management, Business Economics, or Finance
  • You are eager to learn, quickly pick up information and you know how to apply it
