Today you have a morning shift and start with the handover at 06:45 am. You still have time to catch up with your colleagues and then you can get started! You start

by checking the lobby, bar and reception, is everything looking good? Then you continue with the reception tasks and the administrative preparation of the day. A large group of guests will check out at 9:00 am. You and your colleagues ensure that this process runs as smoothly as possible for the guest. In the meantime, the phone rings and you send a guest the requested invoice from the system. It is a hectic day, with a lot of switching tasks, but that is not a problem for you, you like a dynamic working environment.


At 13:00 the peak of the guests who come to check out is over, after which you make a coffee for a guest who is sitting at the bar with you. You chat with the guest and give some tips about Amsterdam. After a few weeks you will have found your way! At 14:45 the handover for the next shift starts and you have noted all the special and important matters that passed you by today, so that everything goes smoothly for our guests even in your absence. You have a quick chat you’re your colleagues from the next service, then it is already time to go home.

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent service to our guests and taking action on as many guests’ requests as possible with a radiant smile;
  • Checking in and out of the guests;
  • Providing tourist information;
  • Handle various administrative tasks, such as answering e-mails from guests or travel agents, checking reservations and sending invoices;
  • Perform bar work and assist with breakfast if necessary.

Job requirements:

  • Understanding the basics of hospitality and service;
  • Relevant experience in the hotel industry is an advantage;
  • Control of the Dutch and or English language in speech and writing.
  • Who are you?You have an open appearance and you are representative;
  • You have a proactive attitude;
  • You are guest and service oriented: wanting to provide optimal service, which gives you satisfaction;
  • Stress resistant;
  • Flexibility (night shifts, holiday and weekends).
