THE POSITION
Hotel openings are fun and exciting. Before the opening of a hotel, during the pre-opening phase, and even once the hotel is up and running, there are many things that need to be done. As a Procurement Intern, together with the Head of Procurement, you’ll make sure that each hotel has the has all the supplies to open and keep operations going.
During the Procurement Internship, you’ll be involved in doing research of what kinds of supplies the hotels need and if they fit the Odyssey story brand. Based on this research, you’ll contact suppliers to set up the contracts and negotiate about the prices. To get a clear picture of the needs, you will also regularly visit hotels, factories and suppliers. Once the deal is made, the hotel must get the supplies in. Here you’ll handle placing orders, coordinating deliveries, and following up on payment. Keeping correct track of projects is necessary, Excel knows no secrets, and learning to work with new programmes should be no problem for you!
In addition to your daily procurement functions, there’s plenty of room for your own input and projects. We’re always curious to see how you get the best learning experience during your internship.
