Omschrijving vacature Purchasing Clerk vacature:

After opening Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht in October 2012 and Hyatt Place in January 2014, we are opening our third Hyatt hotel in Amsterdam: Hyatt Regency Amsterdam, the place to connect!

Hyatt Regency Amsterdam will offer 211 guestrooms, including 13 suites, one Regency Executive Suite and one Presidential Suite. The hotel will feature meeting and ballroom space, a restaurant, bar and a fitness center.

As our newest Hyatt addition is to be opened in spring next year, we are looking for a dedicated colleague who will join our Finance Team. The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for checking in and processing all incoming products and packages, and for shipping packages as needed. This position will also be responsible for accounts payable duties, including processing and auditing, handling vendor inquiries, copying invoices, retrieving documents, and other projects as assigned. You will be a key member of our opening team by making sure that we are well prepared for the welcoming of our guests!

Functie eisen Purchasing Clerk vacature:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Receiving all products, packages and deliveries for the hotel.  Areas include hotel departments, guest deliveries and owner deliveries.
  • Implementing package tracking system to maintain organization with guest and owner packages.
  • Checking quality and recording temperatures of food deliveries. 
  • Organizing deliveries and putting items away in appropriate areas while rotating stock to ensure freshness.
  • Organizing invoices and packaging slips.
  • Maintaining loading dock and granting vendors to necessary areas.
  • Maintain close communication with Food & Beverage and Rooms divisions to ensure items ordered are received properly and are in good condition.
  • Develop relationship with vendors to ensure open lines of communication regarding ordering, purchasing, and invoicing.

  • 1 year of experience in relevant operation, hotel experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift a moderate amount of weight and operate equipment carts.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task. 
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn computer programs quickly
  • Experience with Excel
  • Individual must be willing to take ownership of the work area and look for ways to improve operation.
  • Must have work permit for the Netherlands
