At Bunk, our restaurant is full every day, from morning to late, kicking off with hotel guests over breakfast and finishing off with locals enjoying our cultural programming. Inspired by the monumental church which we call home, our menu features local, seasonal ingredients prepared traditionally: smoked, cured, pickled, marinated and stewed. Fresh produce is at the heart of each dish, which we cook straight from our heart, too. Our guests enjoy their food seated at our long tables perfect for connecting with friends, both old and new.

They say the quickest way to someone’s heart is through their stomach, and you’re ready to make guests fall in love with Bunk. You’re a real foodie and a people person, too, who can’t wait to show off your skills from our open kitchen. You’re extremely organised, so you’re always on top of everything going down in the kitchen. You can pin point exactly what is needed where and when, and how to help the rest of the team be the best they can be. Plus you’ve mastered the art of calm, and can bring some zen to even the most stressful situation. So you have no problem taking charge when the Head Chef’s not around either. Oh, and you’re not afraid of a bit of flavour, of course – in fact, you creatively incorporate into every dish you create.

We’ve converted Amsterdam Noord’s historical Sint Ritakerk into a buzzing hub for people from near and far alike. On a typical day, our restaurant (and terrace, in the summer) is filled with diners enjoying dishes from all over the world prepared with local ingredients (with a Bunk twist, of course), backpackers catching some good sleep on a budget in our pods, culture vultures capitalising on our free events, podcasters and producers recording the next big thing and curious travellers wandering through our halls, heading out on adventures before making their way back to their rooms.

REQUIREMENTS
This position is open to candidates who are legally permitted to work and currently live in the Netherlands
You have at least 1 year of experience in a leadership role within a professional kitchen
You have experience managing teams during high-volume service
You are confident in stock management, ordering and controlling food costs
You understand HACCP procedures and food safety standards inside out
You are available to work evenings, weekends and holidays when needed
You communicate clearly and professionally in English
You take ownership, show initiative and aren't afraid to make decisions
You enjoy coaching others and helping your team grow
