Hotel in Motion B.V. (“HIM”) values your privacy. We process and use your personal data in a secure and careful manner. In doing so, we comply with all applicable laws and regulations. This means that we:

  • inform you in a clear and transparent way about the processing of your personal data and your rights;

  • only use personal data for explicitly described and legitimate purposes. These purposes are concrete, clear, and determined in advance;

  • base data processing on a legal basis;

  • take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data against loss and theft.

Scope

This Privacy Statement applies to all HIM websites. HIM includes the following websites/brands:

www.hotelprofessionals.nl (“HP.nl”): a job vacancy website for the hospitality sector.

www.mjpeople.nl (“MJP.nl”): a recruitment and selection website for the hospitality sector.

www.hotelleadersnetwork.com (“HLN”): a networking platform for managers and directors within the hospitality sector.

www.hotelvrijmibo.com (“HVMB”): a networking platform for a quarterly Friday afternoon networking event for the hospitality sector.

Personal Data

HIM stores your personal data in its database for use by HIM itself and by employers looking for suitable candidates for vacancies or other organizations mentioned in this Privacy Statement. For this purpose, we may store:

  • your contact details;

  • CV/resume;

  • motivation for the vacancy;

  • other information where legally required or with your consent.

Special Categories of Personal Data

HIM only processes special categories of personal data with your consent. Examples include data relating to someone’s health, race, political views, religious beliefs, or criminal history.

A passport photo is also considered special category personal data. If you choose to include your passport photo in your CV, you consent to its storage in the HIM database and to sharing your CV, including the photo, with employers who have posted vacancies on HP.nl or clients of mjpeople.nl.

Purposes of Processing

We process your data in order to:

  • match supply and demand in the labor market;

  • send you offers, newsletters, vacancies, and/or invitations to events;

  • improve the security and functionality of HIM websites, as well as for marketing purposes (e.g. advertisers on our websites and sponsors of HIM events). For this purpose, HIM uses automatically generated data that is only shared with third parties in a fully anonymized form and cannot be traced back to you.

Use of Websites

The personal data you provide when using one of our websites and/or registering for one of our services may be used by HIM for all HIM services listed below (hereinafter: “Services”):

  • HP.nl: mediation between candidates and employers in the hospitality sector;

  • MJP: mediation between candidates and employers in the hospitality sector for management positions within that sector;

  • HLN and HVMB: organization of networking events for the hospitality sector.

Sharing with Third Parties

HIM only provides your personal data to one of its clients (your potential new employer) if you have directly applied for the position (this applies to HP.nl), or when you have given your consent (this applies to MJP).

These third parties are themselves responsible for the further processing of your data. We therefore advise you to carefully read the privacy statement of the relevant third party. We have, however, made agreements with all third parties to whom we provide personal data, stipulating that they must at least comply with the same obligations included in this privacy statement.

Retention of Personal Data

HIM retains your personal data for as long as necessary to maintain the relationship and provide recruitment and mediation services. HIM regularly checks whether the data it holds is still complete and accurate. Data that is no longer necessary for the services provided by HIM will be deleted.If you no longer wish to maintain a relationship with HIM, you can indicate this:on the relevant website if you have created an account there;by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of a mailing; orby sending an email to: info@hotelprofessionals.nl.If necessary, we will then only retain your name [and ??], so that we can record that you no longer wish to be contacted regarding vacancies and/or invitations or receive mailings. For the retention of personal data by the employer whose vacancy you applied for, we refer you to their privacy policy.

Third Parties

Information is not shared with third parties other than in the cases described in this Privacy Statement.

Security

We have taken all reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your personal data. This includes firewalls, data encryption, and physical and administrative access controls to data and servers. Our employees are also required to respect the confidentiality of your data.

If, despite the security measures taken, a security incident occurs, we will take measures to minimize the consequences for your privacy as much as possible. If such an incident has serious consequences for your privacy (a “data breach”), we will report this to the supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), and inform you if necessary.

Transfer Outside the EEA

We process your personal data within the Netherlands. Where necessary for HIM’s services, personal data may be transferred to a recipient in a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Such transfers will take place in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Rights of Visitors to Our Websites

You have the following rights regarding the personal data we process about you:

  • Opt-out: for processing based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent easily and at any time.

  • Right to information: you have the right to ask HIM whether your personal data is being processed.

  • Right of access: you have the possibility to check whether, and in what way, your data is processed.

  • Right to rectification: if it becomes clear that the data is incorrect, you may request that we correct it.

  • Right to object: you have the right to ask HIM to stop using your personal data.

  • Right to be forgotten: in cases where you have given consent for data processing, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data.

  • Right to object to processing: you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data. We will comply with this unless there are legitimate grounds for processing.

  • Right to lodge a complaint: of course, we are happy to help if you have complaints about the processing of your personal data. Under privacy legislation, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). You can contact them directly for this purpose.

Submitting a Request

To exercise your rights, you may submit a request. This request can be sent in writing via email to info@hotelprofessionals.nl.We have four weeks from receipt of the request to assess whether the request is justified. Within four weeks, we will inform you of the outcome. If the request is not complied with, you may object to our decision or file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. In response to a request, we may ask for additional information to verify the identity of the data subject.

Cookies

When you view or download information, we may register your visit through the use of so-called cookies. A cookie is a small piece of data that a website can send to your browser and which is then stored on your computer. This allows us to recognize you during a subsequent visit. Thanks to these cookies, Hotelprofessionals can tailor information to your preferences and see which parts of the website are visited most frequently.
