Hospitality doesn't stop at the reception desk. And neither does your workplace!

Are you someone who instantly notices what a guest needs? Who can handle a reservation just as easily as serving a delicious cappuccino? And who prefers taking initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do?

Then we're looking for you!

At Mercure Amsterdam West, we're looking for an enthusiastic and independent Allround Guest Experience Host. Someone who feels equally at home in Front Office and Food & Beverage, enjoys being around guests, and thrives on variety.

Because for us, hospitality isn't limited to one department or one fixed workplace.

You're wherever our guests need you!

What will you be doing?

As an Allround Guest Experience Host, you'll be one of the main points of contact for our guests. You'll provide a warm welcome, personal attention, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel.

No day is the same! You'll:

  • Welcome guests and assist them with any questions or requests.

  • Answer emails and phone calls and make or modify reservations.

  • Assist guests with check-in and check-out.

  • Prepare delicious coffees, serve drinks, and support various Food & Beverage operations.

  • Work together with your colleagues to maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment.

  • Handle complaints and unexpected situations independently and professionally.

  • Keep an overview, set priorities, and confidently take responsibility.

  • Recognize where help is needed and step in without being asked.

No fixed reception desk, but hospitality throughout the entire hotel!

With the introduction of our self-check-in kiosks, the traditional role of the reception desk is changing. Less time spent on routine tasks behind a desk means more opportunities for meaningful, personal interactions with our guests.

One moment, you're helping someone with a reservation. The next, you're serving a drink or supporting your colleagues in Food & Beverage.

Notice a guest who needs assistance? You approach them. Is the bar getting busy? You jump in and help. Does a guest have a complaint? You listen, think along with them, and find a suitable solution within our guidelines.

You don't think, "That's not my department." Instead, you think, "What can I do to make this guest's experience even better?"

Who are you?

We're looking for someone who doesn't just understand hospitality but genuinely has a passion for it.

  • You have some experience in hospitality, hotels, restaurants, or another guest-focused role.

  • You're friendly, enthusiastic, and naturally connect with guests.

  • You can communicate confidently in English, verbally and in writing.

  • You're independent, proactive, and confident in making decisions.

  • You're confident and professional when handling complaints and challenging situations.

  • You stay calm and focused, even during busy moments.

  • You enjoy combining different responsibilities and are a true team player.

  • You're flexible and available to work on weekdays, weekends, morning and evening shifts, public holidays, and during holiday periods.

Most importantly? You see opportunities rather than problems, focus on solutions, and are always happy to go that extra mile for our guests.

What do we offer you?

Of course, we expect things from you, but we also have plenty to offer in return!

  • A varied part-time position, with working hours to be agreed upon.

  • A salary in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality Industry Collective Labour Agreement (Horeca CAO), based on the appropriate job classification.

  • 25 days of annual leave (based on full-time employment) and an 8% holiday allowance.

  • Travel expense reimbursement in accordance with the applicable policy.

  • Discounts on hotel stays at Event Hotels across Europe and Accor hotels.

  • Access to OpenUp, offering support for your mental well-being.

  • Attractive tax-efficient benefits through FiscFree.

  • A friendly and welcoming team, plenty of variety, and the freedom to work independently and take initiative.

Ready to make a difference?

Would you rather be out among the guests than spend your entire day behind a reception desk?

Do you thrive on variety, enjoy taking responsibility, and love serving a cappuccino just as much as helping a guest with their reservation?

Then you might be our new Allround Guest Experience Host!

Apply now and show us what hospitality means to you.

We look forward to meeting you!
