Allround Technical Service Employee | Hotel The Anthony

An old place in a new guise. For a few years now, the St. Anthony's monastery has been converted into a hotel, and more recently, the hotel has new owners. At our establishment, you'll find authenticity with a personalized approach. We aim to be a place for the people of the neighborhood, the rest of the city of Utrecht, and tourists. We strongly believe in connecting international guests with the local environment.

Located at 197 Kanaalstraat, you'll find the only hotel in Lombok, a municipal monument; with stained glass windows, old wooden beams, a courtyard, a restaurant, bar, and a chapel over 100 years old for events.

You are the person who drives the technical department throughout the entire hotel. You have building knowledge and know how to organize projects and various tasks. You can also outsource certain parts of the work.

What does your day look like?

Your day starts early and with a cup of coffee, you go through the maintenance and repair lists and get to work. There are always several ad hoc tasks that are not on this list and come up in between. Our hotel guests always come first. You are good at prioritizing and coordinating various technical issues, and you enjoy working independently in an old building and making it your own. But above all, you are very practical and hands-on: you tackle problems right away and know how to prevent technical issues rather than just solving them.

Stay a little longer after your shift? You're not the only one because working in one of the oldest places in Lombok is nice but enjoying it afterward with a closing drink might be even better. Not ready to go home yet? You don't have to because as an employee, you get a discount on everything (rooms, food, and drinks) in the hotel.

You are:

Dutch or English speaking
Guest- and service-oriented
Technically skilled and an independent hard worker. A related diploma is a plus
A lover of old buildings with an eye for detail and quality
Experienced in managing maintenance contracts and technical inventory
A good planner
Resilient when things go wrong and creative and handy with solutions
Familiar with technical laws and regulations for hotels
Residing in Utrecht, Lombok, or the surrounding area is a plus and you have a driver's license B

What do we offer: A position for 38 hours per week. Salary is competitive and in line with your responsibilities and experience.
