The Company

For a renowned hotel in Utrecht, we are looking for an independent Breakfast Chef. This is a professional working environment where quality, structure, and guest experience are central, and where you are given a high level of independence and trust within your role.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, working independently, and being part of a well-organized kitchen team within a high-quality hotel concept.

The Role

As a Breakfast Chef, you are responsible for the full preparation, setup, and execution of the breakfast service. You will manage both the buffet and à la carte dishes, ensuring everything is prepared on time, structured efficiently, and presented at a high standard.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, setting up, and replenishing the breakfast buffet

  • Preparing à la carte dishes such as omelets, fried eggs, poached eggs, and French toast

  • Independently running the breakfast service

  • Working with professional kitchen equipment, including a Rational oven

  • Monitoring quality, structure, and pace during service

The fixed breakfast shifts are from 04:30 to 13:00 and take place every other week on either Monday and Tuesday or Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, you will also support the banqueting kitchen. These shifts are scheduled to align well with the breakfast services, ensuring a stable and structured workweek.

Banqueting shifts include:

  • Early shifts starting around 09:00, focused on preparing and serving lunches and preparing mise en place for the evening

  • Later shifts starting around 12:00 or later, focused on mise en place and preparing and serving dinners for events and private functions

Depending on occupancy and demand, you will work on average two longer or three shorter banqueting shifts per week.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Experience as a Chef de Partie or Breakfast Chef

  • Able to independently run a service

  • Reliable and punctual, especially with early start times

  • Structured and calm under pressure

  • Strong eye for quality and presentation

  • Preferably experience in a hotel environment
