You are an inspiration for the team, keep an overview of daily operations, and have an eye for detail to exceed our guests' expectations time and again. You support the Front of House Manager by leading the Front Office and Service team so that your colleagues can continue to develop and our guests receive optimal service during their stay.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Guest experience: you and the team convey the warm feeling of the Malie House to our guests. You also give this attention to our employees and ensure that we provide a hospitable and efficient guest journey. If a guest has a lesser experience, you and the team ensure that this experience is turned into a proper one with an appropriate solution;

  • Team leadership: daily you guide, train, and motivate our Front Office and Service (F&B) employees to welcome and facilitate our guests. You contribute to the training of our interns and employees so that their potential is optimally utilized;

  • Team supervision and schedule management: you oversee daily operations at the reception and ensure compliance with hotel standards behind the reception and during breakfast. You support the Front of House Manager in short-term staff planning in case of illness or other absences;

  • Administration and reporting: accurate administration is important for a well-running Front Office department! You ensure that reservations and payments are processed and checked correctly and that the month-end closing is properly handed over to the Front of House Manager;

  • Planning and collaboration; together with the Housekeeping team, you ensure that quality and service are in order according to hotel standards and protocols. This requires close collaboration with the Front of House Manager, Guest Relations Supervisor, Housekeeping Manager, and Housekeeping Supervisor to guarantee a seamless guest experience;

  • Quality control: regular inspections are conducted to ensure that Front of House areas and hotel rooms are neat, organized, and operational.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Completed MBO level 4 / HBO hotel/hospitality education;

  • You have 1-2 years of experience behind the Front Office as a senior employee;

  • You are enthusiastic and convey your enthusiasm to the team with your open communication;

  • Communicatively skilled in Dutch and English (an additional language is a plus but not required);

  • Flexibly deployable: shifts also take place on weekends and evenings;

  • It can sometimes be very busy in the department, you can handle that. You remain calm and composed and keep everything well in view;

  • You have a hands-on mentality and do not shy away from going the extra mile;

  • You are someone who can plan and organize well, you define tasks in terms of required time, resources, and people;

  • Possession of a BHV diploma is a plus;

  • Possession of a Social Hygiene diploma is a plus;
