Our former hotel in Breda has been transformed into a warm and welcoming reception centre for status holders (refugees with residence permits). We’re looking for a dedicated Operations Assistant / Duty Manager who keeps an overview, supports daily operations, and helps create a safe, hospitable environment.

About Us

Our hotel in Breda has been given a new and meaningful purpose. Where we once welcomed guests from around the world, we now provide accommodation for status holders – people who had to leave their homes behind and are building a new life here.

We continue doing what we do best: offering care and hospitality, creating structure and calm, and making people feel welcome. Our small, dedicated team is looking for a colleague with a warm heart, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to maintain oversight in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you are the central point of coordination on-site. You ensure that everything runs smoothly – from daily operations to communication with residents and the COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers).

Your work is varied and people-focused. You will:
• Perform duty tasks and oversee daily operations.
• Supervise colleagues and assist during breakfast, lunch, and dinner (these duties will gradually be phased out as residents start cooking for themselves).
• Conduct inspections of rooms and common areas.
• Act as the point of contact for residents, colleagues, and the COA.
• Contribute to a pleasant, safe, and respectful living environment.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with and for people – someone who combines hospitality, structure, and empathy.

You are:
• Experienced in hospitality, facility management, or a similar operational role.
• Communicative and hands-on.
• Calm, reliable, and stress-resistant.
• Comfortable working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Flexible – no two days are the same here.
