What's the Role?
We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Public Area Cleaner to join our team in Rotterdam's vibrant port district. You'll be working in a beautifully restored former spice warehouse, surrounded by the rich history of international trade, with Rotterdam's iconic skyline right outside your window.
As a Public Area Cleaner, you'll play an important role in creating a positive first impression for our guests by ensuring all public and back-of-house areas remain clean, fresh, and welcoming.
Key Objectives
Maintain all public areas of the hotel in spotless condition at all times.
Ensure compliance with quality and service standards established by the Central Office.
Keep the lobby, entrance, elevators, corridors, restrooms, terrace, patio, meeting rooms, restaurant, kitchen support areas, parking facilities, and staff areas clean and inviting.
Follow the daily Public Area cleaning schedule and adjust priorities based on occupancy levels, events, and guest needs.
Report maintenance issues, damages, stains, missing supplies, or unusual situations to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Duty Manager.
Communicate relevant information to colleagues during shift handovers through the agreed internal communication channels.
Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and enjoy working together every day.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Clean, vacuum, and maintain the lobby, main entrance, elevator areas, and guest elevator landings.
Clean and restock guest, meeting room, event hall, staff, and kitchen restrooms.
Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, corridors, meeting rooms, patio areas, and elevator landings.
Clean tables, plant containers, doors, walls, mirrors, glass surfaces, windows, sliding doors, railings, elevator buttons, and remove visible marks and stains.
Maintain the fitness area, including floors, equipment, restrooms, towels, drinking water stations, and glassware.
Clean and maintain terraces, outdoor areas, sidewalks, parking entrances, garage areas, and staircases.
Remove waste, collect empty bottles, and clear any debris from public areas.
Support the cleanliness of restaurant and kitchen floors when scheduled.
Clean staff changing rooms, offices, staff corridors, and other back-of-house areas according to schedule.
Use cleaning products, machinery, and equipment safely and responsibly, including vacuum cleaners and carpet-cleaning machines where required.

Available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Comfortable working in guest-facing areas and able to adapt priorities during busy periods or events.
Able to communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Front Office, Maintenance, and Management teams.
Living in Rotterdam or the surrounding area.
Fluent in English; Dutch and/or Spanish is a plus.
In possession of a valid work permit for the Netherlands
