Safety & Security Officer (FT) - Rotterdam

Job Description:

As a Safety & Security Officer, you are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe environment for our guests, employees, and visitors. You are a visible point of contact within the organization and ensure that safety procedures are followed, risks are identified in a timely manner, and incidents are handled professionally.

You will work closely with the Technical Services team and report to this department. In addition to your responsibilities in safety and security, you will support the Technical Services team with a variety of practical tasks. Thanks to your versatility and flexibility, you will contribute to a safe, well-functioning, and welcoming organization.

You will work shifts at varying times, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. This means you will play an important role in ensuring safety at all times.

Your responsibilities and duties:

• Ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and visitors;

• Being visibly present within the organization and acting as a point of contact for safety-related matters;

• Conducting safety rounds and inspections throughout the property;

• Identifying, assessing, and following up on unsafe situations and risks;

• Responding appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and unexpected situations;

• Supporting emergency response and workplace safety procedures;

• Recording and reporting incidents, noteworthy situations, and safety risks;

• Monitoring compliance with safety regulations and internal procedures;

• Collaborating with various departments to continuously improve safety;

• Supporting the Technical Services team with operational and technical tasks;

• Reporting and following up on technical malfunctions or issues;

• Contributing to a pleasant, safe, and guest-focused environment for everyone.

We are looking for a committed and reliable Safety & Security Officer who takes safety seriously while also having an eye for hospitality and teamwork. You remain calm in unexpected situations, are willing to take responsibility, and enjoy contributing to a safe environment for both guests and colleagues.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in safety, security, hospitality, technical services, or a similar environment (preferred);

• Holds relevant certifications, such as emergency response (BHV) or security qualifications (preferred);

• Is alert, proactive, and solution-oriented;

• Takes responsibility and is able to work independently;

• Knows how to combine safety and hospitality effectively;

• Has strong communication skills and interacts professionally with guests and colleagues;

• Is able to remain calm and composed during incidents or emergencies;

• Is flexible and willing to work irregular shifts;

• Has an affinity for technical and practical work;

• Works accurately and has an eye for detail.
