Overall description:

The Sales trainee is part of the sales team in charge of the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center.

The Sales department is responsible for the acquisition of new accounts and account management of the existing account base in order to maximize revenues in the corporate & group segment.


Purpose of position:

Support the sales department in the daily operational tasks. You will also experience /be involved in the conversion from Starwood Hotels & Resorts to Marriott International. A very interesting time to step in!


Key tasks and job functions:

 

Overall

  • Ensure full liaison with other members of the Sales Department
  • Maintain a strong communication with key departments like events, reservations, revenue and reception
  • Work as a team with employees from all departments to ensure hotel objectives are met

 

  • Meetings:Actively attend and participate in monthly sales meetings
  • Attend all weekly line up meetings
  • Attend RevMax meetings and Group Strategy Meetings

 

  • Reporting:To prepare reports as required
  • Prepare & analyze monthly figures via data extraction
  • Assist with reporting & preparations for owners meetings
  • Use and analyse of Travelclick report and seek for new business opportunities for team
  • Prepare & analyze sales reports like account intelligence for sales appointments and join appointments where possible
  • Assist in new business development and join in cold calling days

 

  • ProgramsKnowledge of all Marriott International programs like: SPG, SPGPro, MarRFP, RevPlan, MILeads etc.
  • Coordinate and carry out Mystery Calls for the Reservations Team

 

  • Sales / Events supportive tasks:Completing RFP’s (Requests for Proposal) forms from companies requesting rates and detailed hotel information (when requested by Sales team)
  • Analyze data to propose corporate rates for RFP’s
  • Assist with the organization of, and attend client events and sales blitzes where applicable
  • Assist with sales workshops
  • To check newly created accounts for new business opportunities and coordinate with team
  • Preparation of sales appointments/meetings
  • Join and participate in sales appointments and site inspections
  • Join in network events where possible

Projects:

Assist the Director of Sales and the Director of Sales & Events with projects

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) (Dutch) used in the workplace and full knowledge of the language English
