The Assistant Director of Finance (AdoF) is responsible for leading the financial operation of Pulitzer Amsterdam. In this role you will drive the financial performance, manage reporting and compliance and provide stakeholders with financial analysis and insights. You are expected to proactively identify financial opportunities, risks, and improvements across the hotel and make recommendations for improvements as appropriate. In this role you will be a member of the management team of the hotel. In this role, you are part of the Management Team of Pulitzer Amsterdam.

The ADoF will report directly to the Regional Director of Finance (based in Amsterdam) and will take the lead role in supporting the RDoF on strategic initiatives and topics overarching both hotels.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage, develop, and coach the operational finance team, focusing on growth and professional development
• Supervise all on site accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable billing, credit and collection, income audit and the monitoring of operations systems
• Timely and accurate month end close reporting and analysis for the hotel, including general ledger journals and balance sheet reconciliation
• Manage all cost lines to ensure that department costs are in line with KPI requirements and support with analysis and/or cost reduction initiatives if needed
• Act as a business partner and financial expert to the management team and all the departments
• Lead forecast, budget and financial reporting
• Prepare monthly VAT fillings and yearly tax requirements
• Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections on a monthly basis and on request.
• Prepare inter-company reconciliation and solve disputes.
• Prepare and lead interim and year-end external audit process
• Focus on continuous improvement of (financial) processes and proactive implementation
• Ensures standard and recommended best practices are carried out regularly and in accordance with local legislation
• Ensures audit compliance with company processes and policies on areas such as banking control, liquor controls, and stock controls, as directed by the Hotel's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Financial Procedures (SFP) and Financial Operating Review guidelines (FOR). Where deficiencies are identified the ADoF and RDoF are responsible for adequate controls, putting remedial training and follow-up actions in place
• Assist and direct the hotel to implement effective control processes to safeguard assets, maintain integrity in the accounts and financial reports and mitigate fraud potential
