As the Assistant Director of People & Culture for Pulitzer Amsterdam and Kimpton de Witt hotel, you will play a key role in driving employee engagement and fostering an positive and high-performance culture across both properties. You will partner closely with department heads, support the Director of People & Culture in implementing HR initiatives, and ensure that our teams feel connected, empowered, and valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Support HR Strategy & People Agenda: Partner with the Director of People & Culture to implement HR initiatives across both hotels, including talent, performance, and organizational development projects.
- Advise & Partner with Leaders: Act as a trusted advisor to Heads of Department on all HR matters, including employee relations, absence management, legal or disciplinary cases, and workforce planning.
- Lead & Inspire the People & Culture Team: Coach, guide, and develop the People & Culture team, fostering collaboration and shared learning between both properties.
- Enhance Employee Experience & Shape Culture: Champion inclusion, engagement, and a positive workplace culture, contributing to both hotel-specific and broader people strategy initiatives.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, identify opportunities to improve ways of working, and support the team in delivering high-quality HR service.
- Leverage Data & Metrics: Use HR analytics and systems (e.g., Workday) to inform decisions, monitor trends, and improve employee experience.
- Champion Compliance & Safety: Ensure alignment with Dutch labour law, collective labour agreements, Health & Safety regulations, and Works Council processes.
- Drive Talent Management: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and succession planning programs to attract, retain, and grow top hospitality talent.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hotel school or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resources (within the hospitality industry is a plus), including at least 2 years in a managerial or senior advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR best practices.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational support.
- A passion for people, culture, and creating meaningful employee experiences.
- Available for 4-5 days per week.
