Groups, Meetings & Events Assistant Manager

From driving conversion, supporting revenue delivery, ensuring operational excellence, coordinating cross‑departmental stakeholders to providing leadership presence to the team when required.

What is expected of you as an Assistant Groups, Meetings & Events Manager:

  • Support the handling, conversion, and management of Groups, Meetings & Events enquiries
  • Act as a senior point of reference within the team, providing guidance and operational support to ensure high service standards, efficiency, and consistency
  • Ensure accurate event planning, including coordination of third‑party suppliers (e.g. AV), invoicing, event feedback, and post‑event follow‑up
  • Proactively support workload distribution and prioritisation within the team to ensure enquiries are handled efficiently, response times are reduced, and conversion is optimised
  • Provide operational coverage and support during periods of sickness, holidays, or staffing gaps to ensure business continuity
  • Represent the G,M & E department in Credit Meetings across all hotels, liaising closely with Finance to ensure outstanding balances are followed up and PMs are closed in a timely manner
  • Support the management of assigned key accounts and large or complex events
  • Actively drive conversion and business performance for allocated hotels, ensuring revenue targets are supported and commercial opportunities are maximised
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness, proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, conversion, and revenue performance
  • Embrace change and innovation, supporting the evolution of ways of working through automation initiatives and new technologies to optimise processes, enhance performance, and support business growth.
  • Ensure all activities comply with national laws and regulations, management decisions, and PPHE policies; handle all personal and commercial information with confidentiality and integrity
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain service excellence.

What we're looking for:

  • A detail-oriented team player with a passion for hospitality and events.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Opera Sales & Catering or similar systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with precision.
  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
