The Hague Marriott is the largest hotel in The Hague and is ideally located in the heart of the international zone, next to the World Forum convention center, the Prime Minister’s residence “Catshuis,” and the Kunstmuseum, between the city center and the beach. With 306 comfortable rooms and suites, including a Presidential Suite and 24 meeting rooms, this conference hotel offers the perfect solution for every stay.
The hotel’s Food & Beverage department consists of a lounge bar, a breakfast restaurant, banquet facilities, and an executive lounge for our VIP guests.
BREAKFAST CHEF
As a Breakfast Chef, you are responsible for the preparation and presentation of all breakfast dishes and for ensuring a high level of quality and consistent service during breakfast hours. You play a key role in leading and supporting the kitchen team in the mornings, ensuring that guests start their day in the best possible way.
Specifically, you will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks to the highest standards:
Preparing and presenting breakfast dishes according to recipes and planning
Coordinating and passing orders, including portioning and garnishing according to established instructions regarding ingredients, recipes, methods, and presentation
Supervising the work of students and colleagues, providing instructions, and ensuring quality and compliance with hygiene regulations
Preparing and replenishing the breakfast buffet and à la carte breakfast items
Contributing to the development of new breakfast dishes and presentations, making suggestions to the direct supervisor, and, where applicable, drafting and testing recipe instructions
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including kitchen equipment and machinery, and reporting any defects or irregularities to the supervisor
Assisting with receiving, checking, and storing delivered goods
Ensuring compliance with brand standards and quality guidelines
Contributing to the achievement of departmental objectives
Complying with hotel security, fire regulations, and all applicable health and safety legislation
You are:
Passionate about hospitality and experienced in the kitchen
A morning person, able to start work at 5:30 AM
Positive in attitude and committed to delivering a high level of customer service
A multicultural background is preferred
Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English and Dutch preferred
Experience in a global hotel chain and a customer-focused role is an advantage
