Breakfast/Lunch Cook - Rotterdam

My name is Rob, and I’m one of the cooks at Hotel New York. I’ve been working at this wonderful company since 2006, which I think says enough about how much I’ve enjoyed my time here. I’m really looking forward to my retirement, but of course I can only leave with peace of mind if a good replacement has been found. Every day when my shift starts, I make sure there are delicious croissants, fresh eggs, orange juice, yoghurt and many other tasty items ready for our guests… maybe soon prepared by you! In addition, I independently run my own section during lunch. As a cook at Hotel New York, you are responsible for preparing the most delicious dishes.

On the days that you handle breakfast on your own, this will be about twice a week, you start at 5:00 AM to prepare breakfast. The kitchen, currently still mine but soon your domain in the mornings. Nice and quiet at first without other colleagues, but once the guests arrive… you’ll be preparing the tastiest dishes à la minute, such as an omelette with bacon, pancakes, freshly made French toast, or perhaps yoghurt with fresh fruit and muesli. You’ll bring a smile to our guests’ faces! It is your responsibility to ask our guests what they would like for breakfast and prepare it fresh for them on the spot. Of course, you do everything you can to give our guests the best possible experience, so it is important that you are confident and strong in communication.

Breakfast shifts therefore start at 5:00 AM. In addition, it may happen that you start at 7:00 or 9:00 AM; in that case, you might first assist a colleague with breakfast and then continue working during lunch.
