Restaurant De Goede Hoop – Hotel Spaander, Volendam

Hotel Spaander is an iconic hotel located on the Volendam harbour. With Restaurant De Goede Hoop, we are taking the next strategic step: developing towards a gastronomic level in which quality, creativity, and a refined guest experience take centre stage.

For this culinary development, we are looking for a Chef with vision, leadership, and a passion for gastronomy.

The role

As Chef, you are ultimately responsible for the kitchen and the culinary concept of Restaurant De Goede Hoop. You set the direction, safeguard quality, and manage the kitchen team. In close collaboration with the Restaurant Manager and hotel management, you will shape a distinctive gastronomic identity.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the culinary concept and menus

  • Lead, coach, and develop the kitchen team

  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and flavour

  • Monitor food costs, purchasing, and inventory control

  • Oversee HACCP, safety, and quality standards

  • Identify trends and translate them into dishes and culinary experiences

Your profile

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef at a high level

  • Strong culinary vision and attention to detail

  • Leadership qualities with structure and coaching skills

  • Affinity with seasonal products and high-quality ingredients

  • Stress-resistant, creative, and results-oriented
