In Oost-Maarland (near Maastricht) Van Oys – Maastricht Retreat will open in Q1, 2025.

We are recruiting a unique personality for the position of:

 

Chef ´Cuisine du Terroir´ | fulltime

 

What do we expect from you:

o  You are responsible for lunch and dinner service in our Chateau restaurant as well as for the bar food in our international hotel bar;

o  You are in charge of organizing the kitchen and developing menus with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients;

o  You lead the entire kitchen team, ensuring an efficient and structured work environment;

o  You will be operationally involved daily in preparing dishes and contributing your creativity;

o  You stay updated on the latest culinary techniques and trends and implement them where possible;

o  You check all mise en place / bar food / dishes for the restaurant and hotel bar;

o  You are responsible for ordering, checking and processing orders;

o  You work closely with local suppliers to ensure the best quality of ingredients;

o  You oversee hygiene, food safety, storage, cleanliness and check the team on these aspects;

o  The restaurant is open 7 days a week, which means that organization / structure / control are key values;

o  You report tot the Culinary Director, who also acts as an sparring partner;

o  You train and guide kitchen staff to achieve and maintain excellence.

 

Who are we looking for:

o  You see yourself as a ´young talent´ and have the ambition to work and grow in a 5* hotel;

You currently work as the star player in the kitchen at a Michelin * level restaurant;

o  You have succesfully completed a culinary training program;

o  You have knowledge of French / Mediterranean cuisine;

o  You have knowledge of or interest in cooking with local and seasonal products;

o  You are able to consistently exceed our guests´ expectations and strive for perfect service;

o  You are driven, with a strong emphasis on precision and time management;

o  You are not only creative on the plate but also in devising solutions;

o  You are willing to further develop yourself, as well as motivate and guide colleagues;

o  You have a flexible mindset and thrive under pressure;

o  You possess social and communication skills;

o  You can work both independently and as part of a team,-;

o  Preferably, you have an ´SVH Diploma Leermeester (master trainer)´ or are willing to obtain one.
