Chief Engineer - Oegstgeest

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to join our team at Hilton Garden Inn Leiden. As a member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and appearance of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

The job

We are looking for an engineer who would like to work in a beautiful hotel! As the Chief Engineer you make sure that you know everything about the building and are ready run an operational hotel. 
 
Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

• Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.

• Respond promptly to guest requests for maintenance assistance.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

• Manage and maintain overview of yearly inspection and service contracts

• Monthly reporting in Hilton overview

• Ensure all Brand Standards are followed

• Prepare Capital and Repairs and Maintenance budgets for Engineering

• Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers

• Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs

• Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses

• Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department and take corrective action, as required, to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives

• Assist with special maintenance projects and renovations as needed.

• Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and inventory of supplies.

• Work closely with other hotel staff to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth hotel operations.
