What are my responsibilities?
As Director of Human Resources, you lead the People & Culture vision of the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. You create an environment where our ambassadors feel inspired, supported and empowered to thrive. Acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team, you drive our culture, shape the full employee journey and ensure our HR operations are future-ready, compliant and aligned with our authentically different identity.
In this role you will:
Work closely with the HR team to create a supportive, efficient and well-coordinated HR operation.
Actively bring our Mission, Vision and Values to life by embedding them into daily people practices, leadership behaviors and decision-making.
Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to align people priorities with business goals.
Champion Learning & Development across the hotel, creating clear pathways for growth, performance and long-term talent development.
Oversee recruitment strategies, onboarding and talent retention, building a strong pipeline of passionate hospitality professionals.
Safeguard compliance by staying current with Dutch labour law, CAO guidelines and internal policies.
Offer guidance in employee relations matters, acting with fairness, empathy and discretion.

Have a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or Human Resources Management.
Have previous experience in a leadership role in HR.
Command strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Can work independently, have excellent time management skills and a high sense of responsibility.
Can communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
Eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Transformation on the way…
A unique opportunity is awaiting you in the city centre of one of the most dynamic markets in Europe. We are excited that the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is currently undergoing a full transformation. A major investment has been made in the hotel which will result in completely renovated guest rooms and public areas, including a brand-new lobby bar, bakery & restaurant and a rooftop bar & terrace. The hotel will expand from 402 to 500 rooms and an additional conference centre will be constructed.
The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel has a very high focus on sustainability and will aim to become an enhancement to the city of Amsterdam.
