Are you ready to take on a pivotal operational role in one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant and dynamic hotels? Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandtpark is looking for an experienced and confident Duty Manager who thrives on variety, leads with calm authority, and ensures every shift runs like a Swiss clockwork in our large-scale hotel with 446 rooms and the stunning rooftop bar & restaurant Floor17.

 

THIS IS YOU

• You bring at least 1 year of hotel leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced Front Office or operational setting in (or near) Amsterdam.
• You are a hands-on people manager who knows how to motivate and coach teams across departments.
• You keep a clear head under pressure, take quick decisions, and know when to step in — or when to step back.
• You have a natural helicopter view, always balancing guest experience, team needs, and operational flow.
• You take ownership over safety & security, handling incidents with professionalism and ensuring compliance.
• You bring a commercial mindset and use your creativity to help drive results on the floor.
• You speak English fluently; Dutch is a strong advantage.

 

YOUR ROLE IN OUR STORY

As Duty Manager, you are the anchor of the daily operation — the go-to leader across all departments when on shift. You ensure the hotel runs smoothly, safely, and successfully, whether during the morning rush, a busy check-in peak, or a late-night event on the rooftop. Your presence makes the difference — for guests, team members, and the overall experience.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Leading by example and supporting staff across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and other departments.
• Monitoring overall operations with a sharp eye for detail and a helicopter view.
• Taking charge in crisis situations, maintaining safety & security protocols, and managing guest incidents professionally.
• Handling guest escalations and turning challenges into opportunities for service recovery.
• Communicating clearly between shifts, ensuring smooth handovers and consistent follow-up.
• Supporting team development and promoting a positive, collaborative working environment.
