Housekeeping Coordinator – INNSIDE AMSTERDAM

Our housekeeping department is outsourced, however, you will be hired directly by the hotel. You are the link between us and the cleaning company. This means, your tasks will also involve administration, finance and stock.

Job summary Organize, responsible and supervise the external cleaning company to ensure continuous compliance with all quality and Meliá standards. Besides this, you will have responsibility to check invoices, manage administration and the stock. 

You serve as the main point of contact between the hotel and the outsourced company, ensuring that all operations and communications between both parties are carried out effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with agreed standards and expectations

 What are the main tasks you are responsible for?  

  • Achieving efficient guest satisfaction in accordance with the specifications and compliance with Meliá Hotels International Standards. 

  • Ensuring cleanliness in all areas of the hotel such as the back office, guest rooms and public areas.

  • Regular inspections of the hotel to see if everything is up to standard.

  • Giving instruction and training of the external company employees, on quality and Meliá Hotels International standards.

  • Maintaining regular communication with the external company in order to address any problems or deficiencies immediately and to resolve them promptly. 

  • To initiate and implement changes to operational standards.

  • Administration of the laundry and material inventory. 

  • Efficient and cost-optimized management and distribution of uniforms.

  • Daily handling of uniforms.

  • To deal with any guest complaints efficiently and professionally to the laid down standards.

  • To undertake regular bedroom checks to monitor standards and to plan on-going maintenance programmes. 

  • To ensure that operating equipment is well controlled and that departments are able to operate to the standard required. 

  • To liaise regularly with all other departments in the hotel where necessary. 

  • To ensure that the quality of the outsourced housekeeping is up to the standards of Melia by performing regular quality control checks and to discuss possibilities for improvement.
