What you can expect
The HR team is responsible for the entire HR policy and personnel management of approximately 350 employees. As an HR Business Partner, you are an important sparring partner and advisor to the Department Heads within your assigned departments. You work closely with employees, managers and the HR team and ensure that HR processes are carried out carefully and on time.
As an HR Business Partner, you are responsible for advising and supporting Department Heads on a wide range of HR-related matters. You will provide support in areas such as recruitment, absence management, employee relations, performance, development and the full employee lifecycle. You identify developments and potential risks, actively contribute to solutions and help further develop our HR processes and services.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Acting as an HR Business Partner and point of contact for the assigned Department Heads, advising, supporting and, where necessary, constructively challenging them on people and organisational matters;
- Supporting and coordinating the full recruitment process, from identifying staffing needs and defining vacancy profiles through to selection and onboarding;
- Advising and supporting managers on absence and reintegration matters;
- Advising and supporting managers on employee relations, performance management and other employee-related matters;
- Contributing to training, development, leadership development and talent management;
- Monitoring the employee lifecycle and proactively identifying required actions, risks and areas for improvement;
- Ensuring HR processes are carried out correctly and on time, and that HR policies, the applicable collective labour agreement (CAO) and relevant laws and regulations are consistently applied;
- Contributing to various HR projects and continuously improving HR processes and ways of working;
- Supporting our Recruiter in building and maintaining relationships with schools and educational institutions.
Rest assured, you will not be working alone! In addition to working within your own team, you will work closely with other teams throughout the hotel. After all, it is through collaboration that we achieve the best results. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. We are flexible in this regard. You will also be expected to attend projects and networking events from time to time.

- Contract: 1 year, with the possibility of extension – we want you to stay!;

- Bonus: 1 week's salary upon achieving the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit) and a successful year-end performance review;

What we ask
Of course, we are first and foremost interested in who you are and what you can bring to Hotel Okura Amsterdam. In addition, we expect you to have:
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a comparable HR position, for example as an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor or HR Adviser;
- Demonstrable experience in independently advising and supporting managers on a wide range of HR-related matters;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations relating to employment law, HR and employment conditions;
- Knowledge of and experience with absence management and the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter);
- Experience with various aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee development;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at different levels within the organisation;
- A proactive and people-oriented approach, with the ability to thrive in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment;
- Strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to set priorities independently;
- Excellent command of both the Dutch and English languages, both written and spoken.
