Mister Highland is the newest addition to the Highland Group and we are looking for interns (from 3 months - 1 year) for Front Office.

Working at Highland Group means working at an ambitious and successful family business that stands for personal attention for our guests and employees. The Highland Group owns six successful hotels in the center of Amsterdam, which recently included the newly renovated, Mister Highland.

Mister Highland (formerly Hotel Rokin) has beeb part of the Highland Group as of September 2021. Mister Highland is an attractive and historic 17th century mansion in the center of Amsterdam with typical Amsterdam ceilings and oak beams in one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam. It offers comfortable and clean accommodation for leisure and business guests.

What will you do as a Front Office intern?

As a Front Office intern you support the Front Office employee(s). You are the first point of contact for our guests. You are aware of this and you approach and inform guests in a hospitable and friendly manner. Your warm, friendly and hospitable appearance makes guests feel immediately at home.

As a front-office intern, your tasks include:

Checking in and out of guests;

Accepting reservations by telephone, email or walk-in;

Maintain contact with Housekeeping so that there is coordination between the cleaning of the rooms and the times of arrival and departure;

Communicates defects to the Technical Service;

Providing services, such as providing the wake-up service, making reservations for our guests at restaurants, museums, etc.;

Providing general and tourist information to guests, ordering taxis, advising and booking restaurants, theater tickets, etc.

Checking the rooms after Housekeeping has cleaned them;

Assisting the breakfast staff;

There is also the option to shadow the hotel manager.

What do we expect from you?

You are a colorful, creative and energetic person with a passion for hospitality;

You strive for high-quality service that is tailored to the needs of the guest;

You speak English fluently, a second language is seen as an advantage.

You are available for at least 3 months.
