Your day to day:

As a Meetings & Events Supervisor, you will lead all aspects of group reservations, conferences, and events, ensuring maximum revenue opportunities and exceptional guest experiences. You will drive sales initiatives, monitor team performance, and implement strategies to increase conversions and grow repeat business. Acting as a key point of contact for guests and clients, you will ensure the team delivers the highest standards in service, while tracking and analysing performance metrics to continuously improve results.

·       Receive and convert incoming enquiries to achieve targets and maximize revenue

·       Collaborate with various departments, including banqueting and front desk to guarantee successful event execution.

·       Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event management.

·       Manage all events schedule to maximise yield and upselling.

·       Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs

·       Arrange and carry out Hotel show rounds

·       Support the Meeting and events manager in attending regular team meetings to discuss ongoing and upcoming events, providing updates on current business and any challenges encountered.

·       Monitor rooms not picked up for the next 7 days and make sure the team chase clients for rooming list

·       Ensure last-minute booking BEOs are completed and follow up with the M&E Coordinator as needed.

·       Monitor timely preparation and distribution of weekly BEOs by the M&E Coordinator.

·       Provide an overview of likely bookings to the GM&E Manager to support accurate revenue forecasting.

·       Analyse performance against targets, including major events and congresses, to identify opportunities for revenue growth and optimization.

·       Support the Meeting and event manager in defining the pricing strategy based on business pipeline risk and opportunities

Finance

·       Verify deposit reports and forward them to the M&E Manager for review.

·       Prepare and maintain forecast commission reports by mid-month.

·       Attend credit meetings and provide relevant insights.

·       Review and implement actions that support long-term revenue development and strategic planning

People

·       Lead and support the Meeting and events executive and coordinator in their Onboarding

·       Lead and support the meeting and events team in their Daily/ weekly tasks

·       Report to the meeting and event manager all main points related to people, finance and meeting and events

·       Represent the meeting and event manager in their absence

·       Lead the meeting and event coordinator in collecting feedback and reviews on meeting and events

What we need from you: 

  • Secondary Hotel School or Hotel management  

  • Preferably experience at Reservations/ Sales and F&B  

  • Speaks and writes fluently English and preferably another foreign language  

  • Numerical insight and analytical skills  

  • Able to prioritize  

  • Positive and can-do attitude  

  • Good communicative skills and good telephone technique  

  • Demonstrated previous experience working in the Conference and Events function  

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Opera is a plus  

  • Sales techniques  

  • Well-groomed appearance
