Pre-Opening Management Trainee

Are you ready to do more than just a regular hotel internship — and help build one from the ground up? As a Pre-Opening Management Trainee at Cityden, you’ll be at the heart of our aparthotel concept, where everything revolves around delivering a personal and unique guest experience. You’ll work side by side with the management team and get the rare opportunity to not just observe, but actively contribute to the opening of a new hotel.

What will you do?
You’ll work closely with the Hotel Manager and all department heads to ensure that standards, systems, and procedures are in place before the hotel opens. No day is the same, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in setting up procedures and workflows for all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, TD, and F&B;

  • Implementing and testing systems to ensure smooth operations;

  • Conducting market research and contributing to our positioning strategy;

  • Contributing ideas for the ideal guest experience and creating training for the team;

  • Supporting recruitment and training new team members.

You’ll be given plenty of responsibility and the freedom to bring your own ideas to the table. This isn’t an internship where you just watch; you will truly help build something from scratch.

Who are you?

You are energetic, curious, and ready to grow in hospitality:

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Events, or a related field;

  • Available for a minimum 6-month internship starting September 1;

  • Hospitality is in your DNA, with previous experience in different hospitality settings (even part-time jobs count!);

  • You are eager to learn and always willing to go the extra mile;

  • You live in or near Amsterdam;

  • You are fluent in English (Dutch or other languages are a plus).
