The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is looking for a community-minded and authentic Restaurant General Manager to join our team.  .  

What are my responsibilities?  

As a Restaurant General Manager, you will lead one of Amsterdam’s most exciting new openings: wood-fired oven-inspired restaurant and bakery built around craftsmanship, flame and honest, thoughtful flavours. 

Our bakery is inspired by laid-back culture of San Francisco. Here the day starts with pastries and speciality coffee, before moving into signature folded pizzas “portafoglio” at lunch and a curated takeaway corner filled with fresh bread, homemade sauces, cheeses and pantry favourites. 

Behind the bakery lies the restaurant, with a different rhythm: breakfasts, long lunches and dinners that celebrate Italian-American flavours reimagined with local ingredients and Dutch food habits. Casual, warm and intentionally unpolished. It is all about good food, good company and the glow of the oven. 

In this role, you will oversee the daily rhythm of the venue, from lively breakfast service to seamless dinner experiences.  As an entrepreneur at heart, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team with professionalism and positivity, manage staffing, scheduling, inventory, and budgets, and collaborate on menu and beverage innovations. You will handle guest feedback thoughtfully, always looking for ways to elevate the experience, while maintaining the venue’s authentic concept and warm atmosphere. 

What makes you the perfect candidate?  

You are a natural host with strong leadership skills, thriving in lively, fast-paced environments. You have experience managing restaurants, ideally in lifestyle and high-volume venues. You bring a sharp eye for detail, a keen sense of atmosphere and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. Most importantly, you lead by example and inspire your team to deliver their best every day. 

• You have previous experience running restaurant operations.  

• You are energetic and curious, always eager to discover new experiences. 

• You communicate fluently in English; Dutch is a plus. 

• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• You work well under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. 

• You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Transformation on the way… 

A unique opportunity is awaiting you in the city centre of one of the most dynamic markets in Europe. We are excited that the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is currently undergoing a full transformation. A major investment has been made in the hotel which will result in completely renovated guest rooms and public areas, including a brand-new lobby bar, bakery & restaurant and a rooftop bar & terrace. The hotel will expand from 402 to 500 rooms and an additional conference centre will be constructed. The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel has a very high focus on sustainability and will aim to become an enhancement to the city of Amsterdam.
