Vertiq is an investment and operational management firm focussed on the hospitality real estate sector in Europe. Vertiq works with capital partners to identify, execute, operate and asset manage its investments.

Vertiq’s current portfolio includes ca. 35 operational hotels across Europe in 7 different countries. We are expanding our team to increase our portfolio through pan-European hotel and portfolio investments.

Key responsibilities: Senior Analyst Acquisitions & Development

As part of the team, you will provide analytical support to identify new opportunities, underwrite and execute investments and assist in the asset management of current investments. Further, the role also includes various types of research to support Vertiq’s growth objectives.

As senior analyst, you will:

• Assist with market and financial analysis during underwriting, acquisition, financing, and divestment processes.
• Create and update financial models for acquisitions and strategic asset management purposes.
• Prepare investment memorandums and information packages for the Investment Committee and external parties (e.g., Investors, financial institutions, brand partners).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packs for the Investment Committee and external parties for the portfolio of investments.
• Analyse potential development and capital project proposals to ensure they contribute to operating performance and meet investment criteria.
• Continuously benchmark hotel portfolio performance against internal and external competition, identifying trends and highlighting opportunities.
• Update, manage and maintain hotel market databases.

In this role, you will report directly to the Manager Acquisitions & Development.

This senior analyst role is based in Amsterdam with expected office presence.
 

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you will need to have:

• 2 - 3 years of full-time professional experience in similar analytical roles (Corporate Finance, Hospitality Advisory, Real Estate Investment Management/PE or Real Estate Owner Operators
• An in-depth understanding of the hospitality industry and its dynamics.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• An academic degree in (Hotel) Business Administration, Finance, and/or Real Estate.
• An understanding of performing research and strong analytical capabilities to report such research.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

It’s considered a plus if you:

• Have a good understanding of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets and Cash-Flow Statements.
• Are familiar with the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry.
• Speak a second European language (Spanish, German, French) at upper intermediate level.
• Can prove proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
