Located in the heart of Amsterdam, Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American is a 4-star hotel with 173 stylish rooms and a vibrant food and beverage offering, including the renowned Café Americain and Bar Americain. Our landmark hotel is part of Dalata Hotel Group, one of Europe’s fastest-growing hospitality brands.
Objective of the Role
As Senior Chef de Parti, you’ll play a key role in overseeing your section and supporting the wider kitchen team in delivering outstanding dishes for all our outlets—from a relaxed lunch to a show-stopping dinner. You’ll combine hands-on preparation with leadership, ensuring quality, consistency, and creativity in every plate that leaves the pass. You’ll be a trend-savvy professional who thrives in a dynamic kitchen and is eager to mentor junior chefs while keeping service running smoothly.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Take ownership of your section and lead day-to-day operations with precision and care

Prepare dishes according to recipes, plating guides, and chef’s specifications

Conduct regular quality checks on flavour, texture, temperature, and presentation

Oversee mise en place and food storage, adhering to FIFO, HACCP, and safety procedures

Supervise and support junior colleagues, ensuring smooth service and task delegation

Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements or innovations

Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and safety

Collaborate with the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef to meet operational goals and guest satisfaction

Ensure compliance with hotel standards and regulatory health & safety guidelines
Requirements:

MBO Level 2 or higher in culinary arts or equivalent

Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen

Sound knowledge of core cooking techniques, food trends, ingredients, and allergens

Strong leadership, planning, and time-management skills
-
Excellent team spirit and the ability to coach and motivate others
-
Quality-focused with a keen eye for detail
-
Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
-
Able to work efficiently under pressure during peak periods
