Cooking and training and motivating a team is your passion. You enjoy creating delicious dishes. You use your creativity to come up with new recipes. Together with your colleagues and the chef, you take your self-created dishes to the next level — and they might even end up on our new menu. Your culinary skills ensure unique experiences and delicious meals for the guests of Hilton Garden Inn Leiden.
Of course, we don’t need to explain what you will be doing on a daily basis, but we’ll briefly outline it anyway.
Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for preparing the mise en place for all our dishes. You work carefully to ensure everything is ready for service. Under the guidance of our Chef, you take the lead within your team. You train and inspire colleagues and trainees and guide them to deliver a successful service together. During lunch and dinner service, you and your team prepare the dishes from our à la carte menu. In addition, you are able to cater group dinners and buffets for our Banquet & Events department. Finally, you assist the Chef with the annual performance reviews and help your team grow within our organization.

In addition to an enthusiastic personality, you are / have;
Initial experience in a supervisory role in the kitchen of a restaurant and/or hotel
A team player with a ‘hands-on’ mentality
Communication skills in English
Product knowledge and creativity
