Set in the vibrant capital city of the Netherlands, Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American, part of Dalata Hotel Group, is a 4-star, 173-bedroom hotel with an extensive food and beverage offering, including the famous Café Americain and Bar Americain. Located on Leidseplein, the hotel is housed in one of Amsterdam’s most iconic Art Nouveau buildings.

Objective of the Role As a Technical Service Employee, you will carry out essential maintenance and repair work across the hotel. From small technical fixes to painting and assisting with larger projects, you will help ensure everything in our beautiful property is in perfect working order. You’ll also be the go-to person for minor repairs, health and safety checks, and assisting external contractors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, lighting, sanitary installations, and furniture.

• Carry out minor painting, wallpapering, and handyman work.

• Assist with planned maintenance and coordinate with external contractors.

• Conduct regular inspection rounds using checklists, documenting findings.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean workspace.

• Cooperate with all departments to ensure a safe and pleasant guest experience.

Requirements

Experience, Education, and Certifications

• Secondary school degree preferred.

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.

Skills

• Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English or Dutch; other languages are a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

• Professional, courteous, and guest-focused.

Physical Demands

• Able to lift up to 25kg and work with tools and machinery.

• Comfortable with standing, bending, and moving around the hotel for extended periods.

• Able to tolerate varying temperatures and environments.
