ASSISTANT COOK

As an Assistant Cook, you are responsible for assisting in the preparation of dishes, preparing orders, and maintaining consistency within the kitchen team’s operations.

Specifically, you will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Assisting in the preparation of dishes according to recipes and planning

• Preparing and passing orders by performing basic cooking tasks, portioning, and garnishing according to set instructions regarding ingredients, recipes, methods, and presentation

• Helping prepare simple meals for staff, special garnishes for receptions, and, depending on the business, for breakfast/breakfast buffets

• Cleaning the work environment, kitchen equipment, and machines; reporting details/defects to the direct supervisor; disposing of waste when necessary

• Assisting with receiving and storing delivered goods

• Ensuring compliance with brand standards

• Striving to achieve departmental targets

• Adhering to hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislation
