What you'll do

As (Assistant) Manager, you're the face of Canvas. Guests and colleagues know where to find you and you know where to find them. You’ll lead a team of around 30 people and make sure everything runs smoothly and professionally, from early breakfasts to late night cocktails.
You’re the go-to person on the floor, leading the team and keeping an eye on service quality, atmosphere and hospitality. You switch easily between rush hours, staff coaching and guest contact.

You’re more than just a restaurant manager: you think along as if it were your own business. Quality, the pace, the vibe, you keep it all on your radar. And while you’re at it, the numbers stay in check too. Success is rewarded with bonuses.

Your responsibilities

Leading the team and making sure everyone knows what is expected from them.
Welcoming guests and calmly handling complaints.
Making sure food, service and presentation are on point.
Training new colleagues and supporting the team where needed.
Creating schedules and tracking worked hours.
Thinking along on how things could run better and be more fun for everyone.
Keeping an eye on hygiene and the agreed working standards.
Supporting with end-of-day closing, administration and stock.
Monitoring team productivity and making sure targets are met.

You are:

Experienced: at least 3 years in hospitality, including 1 year in a leading role.
Presentable, guest-oriented and socially skilled.
Calm under pressure and okay with working evenings or weekends when needed.
Able to adapt quickly and take initiative.
A team player who’s not afraid to get hands-on.
Based in (or near) Amsterdam.
Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
You have (or are willing to obtain) a Social Hygiene certificate and/or a certified hospitality trainer license.
