We are looking for a new Assistant Manager for Werkplaats & Events. Werkplaats – on the ground floor of Volkshotel – is a large cafe with a terrace and workplaces. It is a meeting place where many different people come together. Werkplaats has two faces: during the day it is a place for coffee lovers and in the evening you can come over for a wide range of (special) beers. There are also events regularly, from a photography market to speed dating and live jazz performances.

Responsibilities:

You are jointly responsible for the organization, recruitment and motivation of the Werkplaats & Events team;
You create a good atmosphere in the cafe and come up with ideas for renewal or improvement of the existing range in terms of assortment and programme;
You guarantee quality and cleanliness in the workplace (HACCP) and behind the scenes;
You manage the daily activities in Werkplaats and during events;
You realize qualitative and quantitative objectives such as labor productivity and turnover;
You train, guide, motivate and coach employees.

What we ask:

You have relevant work experience in a managerial position;
You live in the Amsterdam region;
You speak Dutch and English;
You can communicate clearly and set up standard working methods;
You are stress-resistant, a hard worker and not afraid to roll up your sleeves;
You are enthusiastic and a team player.
