Restaurant Canvas—located on the seventh floor of Volkshotel—is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced breakfast chef. From early morning until late at night, Canvas is a destination for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. A meeting place where a diverse mix of people come together. If you don’t mind an early start and view preparing an extensive daily breakfast buffet as an enjoyable challenge, then you might just be our newest colleague.

Here’s what your day looks like:

Your shift starts at 06:00. Within an hour, you get the kitchen up and running and prep all the fresh produce before the first guests arrive. Between 07:00 and 11:00, you ensure the buffet is well-stocked so that all guests (including hotel guests) can enjoy a delicious breakfast. From 11:00 to 14:30, you handle preparations for the next day, unpack deliveries and jump in to help wherever needed. By the time your shift ends at 14:30, the kitchen is spotless and ready for use and your colleagues take over for lunch. Want to unwind after your shift? Take a dip in the hot tubs or visit the sauna on the eighth floor—you can use these facilities for free. Not ready to go home yet? You don't have to be; as an employee, you get a discount on everything in the hotel (events, rooms, and food & drinks). Plus, all employees can join Volkshotel’s weekly yoga classes for free.

What we offer

This position entails a minimum of 24 hours per week. Salary is in accordance with the Horeca CAO scale 5 and is commensurate with your responsibilities. As a Volkshotel employee, you are entitled to a free overnight stay at the hotel once a year.
