Breakfast Cook - Amsterdam

Are you someone who has no trouble waking up early and has a passion for delicious food and hospitality? While most people are still turning over in bed, you're already in starting position to prepare the ultimate breakfast for our guests. Does this sound like you? Then you might be the breakfast chef we’re looking for! 

What are you going to do?  

But what actually makes the ultimate breakfast? As a breakfast chef, your day starts at 6:00 AM (or sometimes even earlier), preparing all the dishes for the breakfast buffet. You ensure there’s always enough stock, replenishing the buffet with a big smile because you know your guests appreciate your effort and culinary skills. On request, you prepare various hot dishes, and whether it’s a gluten-free pancake or a last-minute room service breakfast, you’ve got it covered. By the time the bar opens at 10:00 AM, your pastries are ready, and when the first lunch orders start coming in at 11:00 AM, you’re in your element. 

Where will you be doing this?   

The former Scheepvaarthuis of Amsterdam is now home to one of Amsterdam's most iconic five-star hotels, Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam. The hotel has 205 luxury rooms, including 22 suites, 8 meeting and event rooms, a Bar Lounge and a Spa & Wellness center. Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam is located just 500 meter from Central Station and is easily accessible from the motorway.

Our hotel is part of Amrâth Hotels. Amrâth Hotels consists of 12 three-, four- and five-star hotels in the Netherlands. Our hotels are located in unique and central locations from Maastricht to Alkmaar. Characteristic is the comfort, the personal service and the unique character.  

Your Qualities:  

• You have a completed vocational education in culinary arts.   

• Experience as a chef is a plus, but not required. You can learn everything within our team.   

• You can work efficiently and hygienically according to HACCP guidelines.   

• You have a passion for cooking and an eye for detail.  

• You live in the Amsterdam area.  

• You have a good knowledge of Dutch and/or English. Do you speak an additional language? ¡Muy bien, sehr gut!  

What do we offer you?  

• An exciting position of 38 hours in the heart of Amsterdam  

• A salary in accordance with the Horeca-cao 2468,35 EUR to 2658,37 EUR based on a full-time employment contract of 38 hours and depending on your experience.  

• The contract length 7 months or 1 year with the possibility of extension. We want you to stay with us!

• After your first month, our “Know Where You Work” program treats you to a free overnight stay in one of our hotels!
