nhow Amsterdam RAI is a social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travelers, and Amsterdam locals. The iconic building, facing the various wind directions, symbolizes the melting pot the city of Amsterdam has always been and continues to be. The impressive 91-metre-tall building is in the Zuidas district, right next to the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, offering its guests a dynamic headquarters and home base.  

 

For this iconic social hub, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Chef/ Cook who is ready to take part in this large dynamic design hotel. The kitchen is on the 17th floor and with its unique location and view, is one of the highest professional kitchens in Amsterdam. The kitchen services the breakfast buffet of up to 700 covers, the room service, all day bar menu, and the banqueting. The kitchen team consists of the Executive Head Chef, the Executive Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef breakfast, Junior Sous Chef banqueting, and a brigade of Chefs/ Cooks, Commis and Stewards. The core team has 15 members that are supported by the pool of flex-chefs.

What are you going to do? 

As chef/ cook in the Banqueting, you are delivering the culinary experience of our guest in one of our 10 meeting rooms. You work alongside your Sous Chef and together ensure good planning and execution of lunches, morning and afternoon breaks as well as sit-down and walking dinners. Aside from that, you will support your Sous Chef with various projects to improve processes. You will participate in coming up with changes to the banqueting menu, updating recipes and learning to make food calculations. You will be working according to the HACCP.
