For the kitchen of Hotel Casa Amsterdam, we are looking for an enthusiastic Chef de Parti, to work on our roof terrace GAPP.


A day like...

Today you start at 11 a.m. and when you come in you greet your colleagues who have already started in the morning in the large kitchen on the first floor. Your domain is on the 8th floor. You start by checking your orders and checking your mise en place. Then you take the elevator to the 8th floor to start getting the kitchen ready for the day.

It promises to be a lovely sunny day with lots of activity on the rooftop terrace. You make sure all the coolers are well replenished and you are ready for the day. Guests can visit GAPP for delicious comfort food dishes and tasty snacks. You feel like popping and making it a great day!

In the early afternoon it is a bit quieter and this gives you time to do all the HACCP checks and check the temperature lists. You also set up an order list for the rest of the week.

The rest of the day goes smoothly; it was nice and busy! At 9:30 p.m. the kitchen closes and you start cleaning up. While enjoying a nice closing drink, you talk over the day with some colleagues before everyone goes home.


Your responsibilities...

  • To prepare tasty dishes;
  • Met your enthusiasm making sure the team gets the best out of the day;
  • Adhering to hygiene and cleaning regulations (HACCP);
  • Communicating the various cooking and cutting techniques;
  • Coaching and training students;
  • You are the point of contact for the kitchen, breakfast and banqueting staff in the absence of the (sous) chef.


You...

  • Are someone with a completed cooking education;
  • Have good product knowledge and enjoy sharing it with your colleagues;
  • Have worked in the kitchen for at least 2 years and have experience in coaching and training employees;
  • Are stress resistant, eager to learn and flexible;
  • Are a team player who enjoys working with young and enthusiastic colleagues;
  • You can express your creativity in the dishes and ensure consistent quality;
  • Are flexible and willing to work alternating week or weekend shifts;
  • You speak fluent Dutch and/or English.


You get...

  • Salary: between €2,298 and €2,858 gross per month (scale 5 Horeca CAO) based on a 38-hour work week, if you are 21 years of age or older. This is exclusive of vacation allowance;
  • A workweek of 4x 10 hours per day or 5x 8 hours per day. This will be determined by how busy the hotel is;
