Located on the banks of the Maas River, Haven Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre together form a unique hotel complex in the heart of Rotterdam. The Food & Beverage Concept:
Bar Calan, located in the five-star Haven Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a stylish bar where Rotterdam’s multicultural energy comes together in cocktails with global influences. Inspired by flavors and stories from Morocco, Indonesia, Suriname, and Turkey, among other places, Bar Calan revolves around refined drinks, a lively atmosphere, and a modern interpretation of international bar culture.
dō café bar bistro, located in the four-star DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre, is an accessible all-day meeting place where café, bar, and bistro come together. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Rotterdam and international city hotspots, dō is all about great coffee, comfort food, shared bites, and a relaxed bar atmosphere. From lunch to after-work drinks and casual evenings: dō combines a modern, cosmopolitan vibe with a warm and welcoming experience.
Loef Livingroom & Café is a relaxed and contemporary gathering place within the Haven Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton, where the atmosphere of a modern living room is combined with the liveliness of a café. The concept revolves around comfort and accessibility: a place where guests can drop by at any time of day for coffee, a good glass of wine, and casual get-togethers. Inspired by the energy of Rotterdam, Loef feels warm, open, and welcoming, with a focus on relaxing, working, or gathering in a casual setting.
Banqueting is the department within the hotels responsible for organizing and executing events and group gatherings. It is the operational heart behind meetings, dinners, receptions, and parties, where everything revolves around creating a flawless guest experience. From setting up the rooms and preparing the food and drinks to the service during the event: banqueting ensures that every detail is just right. In close collaboration with the kitchen, service staff, and the meeting & events team, every event is tailored to the guest’s wishes and the nature of the occasion.
The breakfast concept at Haven Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre is served centrally at Haven Hotel and serves as a lively gathering place every morning for domestic and international leisure and business guests. The concept combines an extensive buffet with a live cooking station, where freshly prepared dishes, quality, and personalized service take center stage. With a dynamic and international atmosphere, breakfast offers a high-quality start to the day, in keeping with the character of both hotels. Due to the scale of the hotels, breakfast serves a high volume of guests, with up to 800 guests welcomed each morning during busy weekends, where experience, efficiency, and hospitality go hand in hand..
As Director of Food & Beverage, you will oversee the five F&B concepts within the hotels: Bar Calan, dō café bar bistro, Loef Livingroom & Café, banqueting, and breakfast. Together with the Executive Chef and the Outlet Managers, you are responsible for the further development and positioning of these concepts, designing not only menus and beverage programs but, above all, overseeing and enhancing the overall guest experience at each outlet.
You ensure that each concept retains its own identity, while together they create a single strong and consistent hospitality experience. From atmosphere, service, and quality to operations and commercial results: you drive cohesion, innovation, and experience across all outlets. In a dynamic and international environment, you’ll have the freedom to translate your vision into distinctive and high-quality hospitality concepts.
Job Description:
As Director of Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for the overall F&B management of two hotels under one roof. You will oversee both operational and strategic aspects and ensure that our guests enjoy an exceptional culinary experience.
Your Responsibilities:
Operational management – day-to-day leadership of all F&B departments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Quality control – maintaining and improving service and quality standards to guarantee an excellent guest experience.
Strategic planning – developing and implementing long-term F&B strategies for growth and innovation.
Financial management – budgeting, cost control, and optimization of food and labor costs to maximize profitability.
Team Leadership & Development – Leading, coaching, and motivating the F&B team to improve performance and guest satisfaction.
Menu and Concept Development – Collaborating with chefs and the management team to create innovative and appealing F&B concepts.
Guest Experience & Customer Satisfaction – actively responding to guest feedback and implementing improvements to exceed their expectations.
Laws and Regulations – ensuring compliance with all hygiene, safety, and alcohol laws.
Hilton Brand Standards – overseeing the proper adherence to and implementation of all Hilton Brand Standards across the entire Food & Beverage operation, ensuring that service, quality, presentation, and procedures consistently align with Hilton’s international standards and brand experience.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and driven Director of Food & Beverage who can take our F&B operations to the next level with passion and strategic insight. You have at least three to five years of experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry or a similar environment and know exactly how to effectively manage multiple F&B departments. With your strong leadership skills, you motivate and inspire teams to deliver the best guest experience every day.
You have sharp commercial insight and understand how to manage costs, set budgets, and optimize revenue. At the same time, you have an eye for innovation and know how to translate trends into innovative F&B concepts that surprise and tantalize guests. Quality and guest satisfaction are your top priorities; you know better than anyone how to elevate service and the guest experience to the highest level.
In addition, you are an organizational talent, capable of effortlessly coordinating the restaurant, bar, living room café, and banqueting facilities under your leadership. You maintain a clear overview, can adapt quickly, and perform well under pressure. Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and relevant legislation is second nature to you, and you ensure that all processes meet the highest standards.
Flexibility, resilience, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. You are fluent in Dutch and English and know how to communicate effectively with teams, suppliers, and guests.
