What to expect

The F&B team is responsible for exceeding guest wishes and working together in professional teams. The hotel has five restaurants, of which “Ciel Bleu” holds two Michelin stars and “Yamazato” with one Michelin star. Restaurant “Teppanyaki Sazanka” is known in Amsterdam and further. “Le Camelia” is open daily for breakfast and can also be booked for lunches and dinner. Restaurant “Serre” is inspired by Ciel Bleu and is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Besides our restaurants, Hotel Okura Amsterdam also has two hotel bars and 19 banquet rooms.

In this position of F&B Management Trainee you will be supporting the F&B management team as well as working in multiple operational Food & Beverage departments within the Hotel.

The following departments can be part of your traineeship

  • Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka;
  • Yamazato;
  • Ciel Bleu;
  • Serre Restaurant;
  • Le Camelia / Roomservice;
  • Banqueting;
  • Bars;

Supporting the F&B management will be in both administrative tasks as well as strategic thinking. Operational tasks, such as advising guest with regards to menu’s, serving dishes and serving our guests during their stay in Hotel Okura Amsterdam based on the standards set by the hotel (align with Standards of Leading Hotels of the World)

The rest of the tasks will be dependent on your knowledge, skills and interests you have. You will work 7.6 hours per day. The shifts are dependent on the department you have been assigned to. The number of days per week is upon discussion. You are available to work on public holidays. It is possible to work one day a week on your thesis or school projects.

What do we ask? 

We are primarily interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you. Nevertheless, we expect from you that:

  • You are a student at one of the (hotel)schools in the Netherlands;
  • Experience within F&B is an advantage;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English;
  • All trainees in the F&B department need to be able to travel to Amsterdam in flexible hours (living in or near Amsterdam is an advantage);
  • You are enthusiastic and have a true passion for the hospitality industry
