A day in the life of a Hospitality employee   

This is what a working day looks like for a hospitality employee at Utrecht City Apartments:   

• You start your day with a cup of coffee and make sure everything is ready for a new day full of arrivals. You check whether the apartments are taken care of down to the last detail, so that guests can check in without any worries.  

• Upon arrival, you will be the first point of contact and provide a warm welcome. You help guests on their way with tips about Utrecht and the surrounding area and make them feel right at home.  

• During the day, you process reservations, answer email and phone calls and keep the administration in order, including light financial work. In case of questions or unexpected situations, you switch quickly and think in terms of solutions.  

• In addition, you regularly walk rounds through the apartments and public areas. You have an eye for detail and notice immediately if something is not quite right, and you pick it up immediately, so that everything always looks neat and on a high level. You also check whether all facilities are functioning properly, so that guests don't have to worry about anything. In the meantime, you keep an eye on whether the housekeeping stock is still up to standard and you raise the alarm in time if something needs to be replenished.  

• At the end of your day, you ensure a clear handover to your colleague who will take over the next shift. You will share important details, ongoing points of interest and everything needed to ensure that the work continues smoothly.   

• No day is the same, but one thing is certain: thanks to your efforts, our guests lack nothing. 

The skills behind the smile   

A real Hospitality Employee of Utrecht City Apartments likes nothing more than to provide the best possible service to our guests. You are hospitable by nature and you also recognize yourself in the following points:  

• MBO level 3+ working and thinking level  

• Communicative skills in at least 1 foreign language  

• Knowledge of software packages and internal procedures   

• Having emergency response is an advantage   

• You are hospitable and want to give your guests a unique experience  

• An enthusiastic and independent employee with (how could it be otherwise) an eye for detail;  

• Flexible deployment: shifts also take place on weekends and in the evenings;  

• You have good communication skills in Dutch and English (any additional foreign language is an advantage);

• A salary from 14.96 per hour excluding holiday pay and vacation days.   

• A 0-hour contract, perfect to combine with study or family.
