Internship Overview
This internship offers a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience within the hospitality and marketing environment of a boutique hotel in the city centre of Amsterdam. The intern will be actively involved in communication, marketing, CRM, social media, and innovation-related projects, combining strategic thinking with practical execution.
Start date: 2 February or ASAP
Location: On-site at the hotel
The internship is structured around two main projects, allowing the intern to develop both analytical and creative skills while gaining insight into real-world hotel operations.
Project 1: Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
The first project focuses on Customer Relationship Management and the full customer journey.
Objectives:
To explore and map the complete customer journey, from first contact to post-stay communication
To identify, analyze, and evaluate all existing customer touchpoints (online and offline)
To identify gaps and opportunities within the current customer journey
To propose and develop new touchpoints that enhance the guest experience
Activities:
Analyzing current CRM strategies and guest communication flows
Working extensively with the hotel’s GMS system, particularly for email marketing and automated communication
Designing new or improved touchpoints (e.g. pre-arrival, in-stay, post-stay communication)
Implementing selected touchpoints in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Evaluating the effectiveness of implemented changes based on qualitative and quantitative feedback
This project combines strategic analysis, communication design, and practical implementation.
Project 2: Social Media & Branding
The second project focuses on social media strategy and brand communication.
Objectives:
To evaluate the current social media presence and performance
To analyze brand identity, tone of voice, and visual consistency
To identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
Activities:
Conducting a content and performance analysis of existing social media channels
Defining or refining branding guidelines for social media
Designing new content concepts aligned with the brand identity
Creating a structured social media content calendar and posting schedule
Exploring trends, formats, and platform-specific best practices
This project emphasizes creativity, branding, storytelling, and strategic planning.

Basic technical and digital systems (e.g. CRM tools, GMS platforms)
Learning Outcome
By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed a strong understanding of customer-centric communication within the hospitality industry, gained hands-on experience with CRM and social media strategy, and built a portfolio of strategic analyses and practical implementations.
Education / Study Background
We are looking for students currently enrolled in:
Bachelor’s programs in Marketing, Communication, Commercial Economics
Hotel Management / Hospitality Management
Creative Business, Media or Branding-related studies
International students in hospitality or business-related studies are welcome
Knowledge & Skills
Strong interest in hospitality, lifestyle, and boutique hotels
Affinity with branding and storytelling
Good written and verbal skills in English (Dutch is an advantage, not a requirement)
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Interest in content creation (copywriting, photography, short-form video)
Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative, CMS or social media tools is a plus
