What can you expect

The Front Office team is responsible for the welcoming of all guests, check in and out procedures and assisting and offering with information and service. The team is also responsible for guiding guests to their rooms and handling the payments.

Together as a team, you are prepared to welcome our guests and offer them a special stay in our hotel. The most important goal of the Doorman is to always be present for our guests in line with the hotel standards. The first and last contact with guests is of high importance and has a large influence on the guest satisfaction. In this position you are the first person to come into contact with guests; you will welcome them and provide information about our hotel and surroundings. Your main tasks will be:

  • Assisting guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner during their stay at Hotel Okura Amsterdam;
  • Increasing your familiarity with individual wishes of our regular guests and VIPs
  • Advising our guests with regards to activities within Amsterdam during their stay
  • Assisting guests to their rooms and informing guests about the room, facilities and Amsterdam
  • Organizing transportation, taxi and parking

Don't worry you will not be working alone. Besides working in your own team, you will also work with other departments in the hotel. Work will be carried out in shifts throughout a 7-day workweek, with times such as: 07:00 – 15:00, 11:00 – 19:00 and 15:00 – 23:00. You will work 5 days a week, 7.6 hours per day. You are also available to work on public holidays.

What do we offer?

 

  • Contract: 1 year with the possibility of extending. We want you to stay!
  • Salary: Group 3. Click HERE for the salary scale
  • Bonus: 1 week salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit) and you get a successful yearend evaluation
  • 8% holiday allowance (pro rata);
  • 25 vacation days per year (pro rata).

  • Contribution to travel expenses from 10 km (one way);
  • After obtaining the probationary period, you will receive an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people), so that you can experience the hotel as a guest!

 

What are we asking?

Of course, we are first and foremost interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you to provide a great workplace. Nevertheless we expect from you that:

  • You are representable and service minded;
  • You have relevant work experience within a similar position in a similar organization, preferably within the luxury segment;
  • You have an excellent command of Dutch and English (oral and written);
  • You have a valid driving license
  • You are flexible in regards to working hours
