Room Maintenance Handyman - Amsterdam

Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks and minor repairs in hotel guest rooms to ensure they are always in excellent working condition and compliant with brand standards. The Room Maintenance Handyman completes all assigned tasks efficiently and with minimal disturbance to guests.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance in guest rooms.

• Handle minor repairs, including plumbing (leaks, clogged drains), electrical (light bulbs, sockets, switches), carpentry (doors, handles, furniture), and painting/touch-ups.

• Check and maintain HVAC units, thermostats, filters, and other in-room equipment.

• Ensure all rooms meet safety and brand standards after maintenance tasks.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs and report major issues to the Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer.

• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office to minimize room downtime.

• Follow all health and safety guidelines and keep work areas clean and organized.

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate has previous experience in hotels or a similar working environment and places a high value on hospitality.

To successfully fulfill this role, it is important that you master the following skills:

• Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or similar role (hotel experience preferred).

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

• Good communication skills.

• Flexibility to work in shifts if required.
