What to expect
The sales department strives for the optimal revenue mix between hotel rooms, restaurants, banquet space and the spa.
As a Sales Trainee you are responsible, together with the Sales department in striving for the optimal sales mix of hotel rooms, restaurants, banquet space and the Spa at Hotel Okura Amsterdam. You will be working in one of the most luxurious hotel products in the Netherlands and are able to increase your knowledge of sales. This internship brings a lot of responsibility and offers you the opportunity to develop yourself in a dynamic environment. Your main tasks will be:
- Assist with preparing and sending materials for sales trips and after sales mailings;
- Provide information about the hotel to clients and guests;
- Provide information about the hotel to fellow colleagues in other Okura hotels if requested;
- Investigating new potential markets and clients;
- Attending various meetings;
- Working in an international ambiance;
- Assisting the entire Sales department with Sales projects.
Your traineeship shift will be from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 – 17:00. You are also expected to assist during events either in the evening or on weekends. It is possible to work on your thesis or school projects one day per week.

- Salary: Trainee compensation of €750 euros (gross) per month based on a full time traineeship

Sales Trainee
The sales department aims to achieve the ultimate revenue mix of rooms, meeting space, restaurants and spa.
Don’t worry, you’re not alone! The entire Sales team consists of 1 Assistant Director of Sales, 2 Sales Managers, 1 Sales Executive and 1 Sales Coordinator under the direction of the Director of Sales. Working days are from Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 17:00, To assist during events, you sometimes need to work in the evening or weekend. It is possible to work 1 day a week on your school assignments or thesis.
What are you going to do?
As Sales Trainee you will, together with our Sales department, be responsible for striving for the optimal revenue mix of hotel rooms,restaurants, banquet rooms and the Spa within Hotel Okura Amsterdam. You will work in one of the most luxurious hotel products in the Netherlands and you will be able to broaden your knowledge of sales. This traineeship gives you a large amount of responsibilities and offers you the chance to further develop yourself in a dynamic environment. Your main tasks are:
- Assist with preparing and sending materials for sales trips and after sales mailings
- Provide information about the hotel to clients and guests
- Provide information about the hotel to fellow colleagues in other Okura hotels if requested
- Investigating new potential markets and clients
- Attending various meetings
- Working in an international ambiance
- Assisting the entire Sales department with Sales projects
What can you expect as Sales Trainee?
As part of the sales team you will be in contact with many different customers to sell our hotel, from corporate customers to event planners. You are always looking for new opportunities to market the hotel. You will also work close with the other departments from the commercial division such as: Conference & Events, room reservations, restaurant reservations, revenue management and marketing & communications.
