We are seeking a Shift Engineer to join our team at Hilton Garden Inn Leiden. As a member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and appearance of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for maintenance assistance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Assist with special maintenance projects and renovations as needed.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and inventory of supplies.
• Work closely with other hotel staff to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth hotel operations.

Requirements:

• Experience in hospitality will be an advantage
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and or open to learn
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work on Saturdays (rotations)
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks.
• Certification in maintenance or a related field is a bonus
