Supervisor Housekeeping - Amsterdam

From early morning till late at night, Volkshotel is a buzzing playground for single mums, artists, dapper dandies, and night owls. With a café (Werkplaats), a sweaty basement club (Doka), a rooftop restaurant (Canvas), workspaces, and 196 hotel rooms, this former newspaper building is a place where everyone and everything mixes. The vibe is free and easy-going; so you can just be exactly who you are.

Because the building is alive 24/7, it’s basically never boring. To keep everything running smoothly, we’re looking for a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor. Someone who gets that good leadership means leading by example, keeping the standards high, and never being afraid to grab a mop yourself when things get wild.

Who are you? We need someone with solid hotel housekeeping experience and a good understanding of hotel operations. But more importantly, we want someone who:

• Gets that we fix things together: You lead by example. If we’re short-staffed or it's just a crazy busy day, you don’t wait around, you roll up your sleeves and work right alongside the team.

• Has a hawk-eye for detail: You inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure high cleaning standards. You spot a crooked pillow from a mile away, but you handle it with a cool head.

• Is street-smart with time and money: You can balance quality, efficiency, and team motivation. You make daily operational decisions that make sense for both the vibe on the floor and the housekeeping budget.

• Is direct and approachable: You know how to train, motivate, and coach a team without sounding like a drill sergeant. Good communication in English is a must, Dutch is a very nice bonus.

• Stays organized: You keep your cool while managing daily planning, assigning tasks, adjusting schedules when needed, and making sure we don't run out of cleaning supplies.
